Meredith Rolfe is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her research focuses on social networks in political behavior, public policy, and organizations. She holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Chicago and a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education from the London School of Economics (LSE). Prior to UMass, she held positions at Nuffield College, Saïd Business School (both Oxford), and the LSE, including directing the MSc Public Management and Governance program.
Her work explores topics like voter turnout, gender gaps in public opinion, ethnicity-based wage disparities, and corporate social reputations. Her book "Voter Turnout: A Social Theory of Voting" earned the APSA Political Networks section's Best Book Award. Current projects include evaluating Alaska's campaign finance reforms and developing R packages for text/data management with the DACSS tech team.
Dr. Rolfe has served on APSA committees, led the SPSA Political Networks section, and chaired the MPSA Early Career Professional Development Roundtables. Her research bridges computational modeling, network analysis, and policy evaluation, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to understanding political dynamics.
