Menno Pradhan is a Full Professor of Project and Program Evaluation for International Development at the Department of Economics, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU) and Universiteit van Amsterdam (UvA). He has held this position since 2007. Additionally, he serves as a co-academic director of the Amsterdam Institute for International Development and a research fellow at the Tinbergen Institute. His research focuses on basic education, early childhood development, community empowerment, and health, employing empirical methods such as household surveys and impact evaluations.
Teaching includes courses on International Trade and Development Economics (BSc) and Microeconomics for Development (MSc). He has supervised 5 PhD theses, though student names are not listed here.
