Meltem Öner is a Lecturer at the State Conservatory of Gaziantep University, specializing in Folk Dances. She has been actively contributing to the fields of cultural heritage, dance anthropology, and traditional arts since 2013.
Education:

- MA in Music Teaching (2009–2010), Yeditepe University
- BA in Turkish Folk Dances (1997–2002), Gaziantep University
Her research focuses on the cultural memory of traditional textiles, folk dances, and folklore through interdisciplinary methodologies. She integrates ethnographic studies, semiotics, and historical analysis into her work.
Her publications and projects highlight cross-cultural studies between Turkey and Bulgaria, as well as the preservation of intangible cultural heritage in Anatolia. She has presented at international conferences on dance anthropology and spatial music analysis.
