Fatma Kızık is a Lecturer at Gaziantep University, affiliated with the State Conservatory of Turkish Music and the Department of Folk Dance. Her research centers on folk dance traditions, cultural heritage, and ritual practices in Anatolia, with a focus on gender dynamics and symbolic interpretations.
- PhD in Turkish Language and Literature (2014) and Turkish Folklore from Gaziantep University
Her scholarly work explores the intersection of dance, ancient belief systems, and regional identity, particularly in Gaziantep Turkmen culture. Publications highlight her expertise in ethnographic studies of folk games, women's roles in traditional dances, and cultural integration in Anatolian communities.
Fatma has presented internationally on topics like the Cangır-Cungur dance and Halay dances, linking them to broader themes in folklore and performing arts. She has also contributed to exhibitions on folk songs and costume design, showcasing her interdisciplinary approach to cultural preservation.
