Fatma Kurt is a Research Assistant at Gaziantep University, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Turkish Language and Literature. Her work focuses on Turkic languages, dialectology, and historical linguistics.

Her research spans Turkmen dialects, semantic evolution, and comparative linguistics. She has published on Syrian Turkmen dialects, Golan Turkmen dialects, and lexical changes from Chagatai to Uzbek Turkish.
Her recent publications highlight Turkic language preservation, semantic shifts in Uzbek Turkish terms, and comparative analyses of historical dialects. These works often intersect with philology and sociolinguistics.
Fatma has contributed to journals such as Journal of Endangered Languages and Littera Turca, as well as conference proceedings at the Motif Foundation International Social Sciences Symposium. Her projects include a 2018–2019 study on semantic changes from Chagatai Turkish to Uzbek Turkish.
