YILMAZ KILINÇ is a Lecturer at Gaziantep University's Turkish Music State Conservatory, Folk Dance Department, where he has taught since 1996. He earned his Bachelor's degree from the same institution (1988–1993) in Turkish Folk Dance. His academic work centers on preserving and analyzing Anatolian folk traditions.
Research Focus: KILINÇ investigates regional dance forms like Halay and Barak, Turkish folklore, choreography, and cultural transmission. His projects include Gaziantep With Documents (a cultural promotion initiative) and Rhythm of Life, which documented intergenerational knowledge transfer in folk dances.

Administrative Roles: He served as Head of the Folk Dance Department twice (1999–2004 and 2009–2015).
