Melissa Titus, MPH, is a Lecturer at Indiana University Fort Wayne’s Public Health department. She has over a decade of experience in public health, previously serving as an infectious diseases epidemiologist at Marion County Public Health Department in Indianapolis, where she managed outbreak responses for Hepatitis A/C, tuberculosis, syphilis, opioid crises, and COVID-19. Prior to this, she spent two decades in student affairs at the IU School of Medicine, earning repeated recognition via the Medical Student Council Award for mentorship.

Her research focuses on improving public health responses to infectious disease outbreaks, particularly stigmatized conditions like sexually transmitted infections. She advocates for reducing health inequities in marginalized communities through surveillance and policy interventions.
