Melissa Keith is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Bowling Green State University’s College of Arts and Sciences. Holding a B.A. from Saint Louis University and an M.S. and Ph.D. from Purdue University, she specializes in creativity, motivation, and the impact of gig economy structures on work and well-being.

Her research explores how motivation influences creative processes, evaluates creative ideas, and establishes best practices for data collection in online samples. She also investigates the psychological implications of alternative work arrangements like gig and contract work.
Recent publications highlight her contributions to understanding creative risk perception, affective responses during creative tasks, and methodological advancements in organizational research sampling. She employs both theoretical and applied approaches to bridge creativity studies with evolving labor market dynamics.
Melissa teaches graduate courses including Motivation & Morale and EEO Law, and actively advises graduate students. Her work appears in journals such as the Journal of Creative Behavior and Journal of Personnel Psychology.
