Melinda Campbell is a Professor of Health, Exercise and Sport Sciences at Meredith College, where she also serves as Interim Dean for the School of Education, Health and Human Sciences. Her academic journey includes a PhD in Physical Education Teacher Education from UNC-Greensboro (1992), an M.S. from Indiana University, and a B.S. from Gardner Webb University.
Her research focuses on pedagogical strategies to enhance student self-determination and motivation, alongside leadership development in coaching. She pioneered Meredith’s Exercise and Sports Science major (1998) and previously led the NHHP department and coached tennis/basketball teams. Professional emphases include gender equity in sports media and career management in health sciences.
