Dr. Melinda Jones Ault is Professor and Acting Chair of the Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation Counseling at the University of Kentucky. With 38+ years of experience, her expertise centers on evidence-based practices for individuals with extensive support and complex communication needs. Her research examines systematic instruction methodologies, communication strategies for severe disabilities, rural education challenges, and disability inclusion in faith communities.
Ault has authored 69 peer-reviewed publications, co-authored a textbook on systematic instruction, and co-edited a book on high leverage practices. Her work integrates behavioral approaches with inclusive education frameworks across diverse settings.
