Dr. Melanie David-Erb is a Professor of Comparative Education at the Institute of Education, Ruhr University Bochum, Germany. She holds appointments at multiple institutions, including serving as a Research Associate at the Goethe University Frankfurt and a former DAAD lecturer at the University of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Her academic journey includes studies in German, Philosophy, and Protestant Theology at the University of Münster and Université Lumière Lyon II, culminating in a Magister Artium in 2010.
