Mel Moore

Mel Moore is a Professor of Sociology in the Department of Sociology within the College of Humanities & Social Sciences at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC). She has served on the faculty since 1993, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses both on campus and online in gender studies, social psychology, applied social research, and inequalities.

Her educational background includes:

Dr. Moore's research spans family policy, parenting, bullying/peer pressure, self and identity development, gender socialization, and prejudice/stereotyping. She integrates social psychology with everyday interactions, community value transmission, and cross-cultural studies—particularly focused on Japan—while maintaining expertise in research methods and questionnaire construction.
