Diane Schott

Diane Schott is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sociology at University of Northern Colorado's College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Her teaching focuses on family structures, gender dynamics, and emotional expression in social relationships. She holds an M.A. in Agency Counseling and B.A. in Sociology with Family Studies emphasis from University of Northern Colorado.

Research examines:

• Divorce and remarriage patterns in contemporary society
• Dynamics of blended family structures and step-parenting
• Gender roles in marital relationships
• Sociocultural factors influencing emotional expression

Teaching recognition includes multiple awards for outstanding faculty engagement and student mentorship. She maintains an active counseling practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor, integrating clinical insights into sociological instruction.
