- Education: PhD and MS in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin; BA in Social Work from Fu-Jen University, Taiwan.
Her research interests emphasize the consequences of marital dissolution in later life, stepfamily dynamics, and disparities in pandemic-related hardships among older adults. She has explored topics like racial-ethnic gaps in economic hardship during the pandemic, caregiving for older adults with dementia, and the role of intergenerational support in mitigating depressive symptoms.
Her recent articles highlight trends in late-life family caregiving, the impact of gray divorce on parent-child relationships, and the evolving demography of caregiving networks in an aging U.S. population. While no specific awards are listed, her extensive publication record reflects her contributions to understanding family structures and aging challenges.
Lin’s work bridges demographic analysis with qualitative insights, addressing policy-relevant issues such as economic consequences of divorce and the design of support systems for vulnerable aging populations.
