Dr. Megan Pearson is an Associate Professor in the School of Law at the University of Southampton and Co-Director of the Stefan Cross Centre for Women, Equality and Law. She holds a PhD in Law from the London School of Economics. Her research focuses on Equality Law, Employment Law, and Law and Religion, with current projects addressing care/work-life balance rights, pregnancy discrimination, and flexible working policies. She teaches Employment Law and Public Law modules, including leading the 'Equality at Work' undergraduate course.
Her work employs vulnerability theory to critique legal marginalization of caregiving roles. Notable publications include analyses of religious freedom in workplaces and post-pandemic labor dynamics. She supervises PhD candidates and welcomes inquiries in her research areas. Pearson previously taught at the University of Winchester before joining Southampton in 2016.
Her interdisciplinary research spans gender equality, religious expression conflicts, and legal responses to social issues like conspiracy theories' legal classification. She actively contributes to policy debates through conferences and published commentary on modern legal challenges.
