Megan Greeson is an Associate Professor of Psychology and Director of the Community Psychology PhD Program at DePaul University's College of Science and Health. Her work focuses on gendered violence, specifically examining community responses to sexual assault, victims' help-seeking behaviors, and systemic program evaluation. She holds a PhD in Community Psychology from Michigan State University (2013).
Dr. Greeson's research emphasizes collaborative approaches to addressing sexual violence, including studies of Sexual Assault Response Teams (SARTs), nurse-advocate dynamics, and police decision-making processes. Her work also explores the impact of economic abuse in intimate relationships and the mental health implications for advocates.
Key areas of investigation include: (1) improving criminal justice system responses to adolescent sexual assault victims, (2) analyzing barriers to victim reporting and prosecution attrition, and (3) developing effective interagency collaboration frameworks. Her research integrates qualitative and quantitative methods to inform policy and practice.
Though no specific scientific awards are listed, her extensive publication record and program leadership demonstrate significant contributions to community psychology and victim advocacy fields. Current work includes evaluating SART effectiveness, studying trauma-informed care protocols, and examining faith-based community responses to gender-based violence.
