Megan Corey

Megan Corey serves as a Lecturer in Child Nursing within the School of Nursing, Midwifery, Allied and Public Health at Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU). Her professional background centers on Paediatric Nursing, with extensive clinical experience in the Paediatric Emergency Department of a London Major Trauma Centre under the NHS, and most recently as Lead Nurse for a Paediatric Hospital at Home team focused on delivering acute care to children in home settings to prevent hospital admissions.

Her research and professional interests emphasize innovative child healthcare delivery models, particularly in Paediatric Emergency Nursing and community-based acute care. She specializes in developing Hospital at Home services to reduce unnecessary admissions while maintaining family-centered care standards, aiming to translate this practical expertise into holistic nursing education that cultivates reflective practitioners.

Corey actively teaches on the Nursing (Child) BSc program, integrating her NHS leadership experience into curriculum development to prepare students for real-world clinical challenges. She is based at the Hepworth building (room Hf11) in Canterbury and maintains direct contact with students through her office hours and university email.
