Sarah Stead

Sarah Stead serves as Senior Lecturer and Subject Lead for Children's Nursing within the School of Nursing, Midwifery, Allied and Public Health at Canterbury Christ Church University, where she oversees curriculum development and teaching for child-focused nursing programs.

Her educational qualifications include:

• Diploma HE & Children's Nurse Education (Hertfordshire University, 1997)
• BSc Child Health (RCNi & University of Manchester)
• Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching (PGCLT)
• MSc Interprofessional Practice (Canterbury Christ Church University, 2014)

Her professional expertise spans pediatric clinical practice and nursing education, with specialized knowledge in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) management, community-based pediatric care, and interprofessional healthcare collaboration. Her teaching philosophy integrates extensive frontline clinical experience with evidence-based educational approaches.

Sarah's leadership focuses on the Nursing (Child) BSc and Neonatal Intensive Care DipHE programs, drawing from her decade-long PICU experience at London's Evelina and Lewisham hospitals, plus community infusion therapy work. She maintains active clinical engagement through pharmaceutical company collaborations administering pediatric home infusions.

Based in Johnson Building (Jg30) on the Canterbury campus, she remains integral to the Children's Nursing Team's academic and operational activities.
