Gill Ross

Gill Ross serves as a Senior Lecturer in Child Nursing and Deputy Course Director for the Return to Practice programme at Canterbury Christ Church University's School of Nursing, Midwifery, Allied and Public Health. With extensive clinical experience in paediatric acute care, community settings, and children's palliative care, she supports nursing students as a Personal Academic Tutor and Academic Assessor.

Her educational qualifications include:

• Diploma in Bereavement Counselling (2004)
• BSc (Hons) in Professional Practice (Children’s Palliative Care) from Greenwich University (2009)
• PG Dip in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing from Canterbury Christ Church University (2012)

Her professional focus centers on the impact of acute and chronic health conditions on child development and family dynamics, particularly in high-deprivation contexts. She integrates bereavement counselling expertise and community public health perspectives to promote compassionate, family-centered care through advanced communication strategies.

As Child team representative for the Experts by Experience Group, she actively bridges clinical practice and academic training, mentoring students in the Nursing (Child) BSc and Return to Practice programmes through her role as Personal Academic Tutor.
