Karen Shaw

Karen Shaw serves as a Lecturer in Adult Nursing at Canterbury Christ Church University within the School of Nursing, Midwifery, Allied and Public Health since October 2022, holding Associate Fellowship status awarded in 2024.

Her academic credentials include:

• Registered Nurse (Adult) diploma from Buckinghamshire New University (1998)
• BSc (Hons) in Nursing from Buckinghamshire New University
• Intensive Care Course from Greenwich University (2008)
• BSc (Hons) in Community Health Nursing: Specialist Nursing Programme, qualifying as Health Visitor (2000)

Her clinical expertise spans acute medical wards, neurology, cardiac units, and intensive care (2008-2020), with significant community health experience including smoking cessation clinics and child/family health development initiatives. Her teaching portfolio encompasses Adult Nursing BSc, RDNA, and post-registration courses, with upcoming leadership of the 'Transforming Health Care Provision' module from September 2024.
