Megan Blomfield is a Senior Lecturer in Political Philosophy at the School of History, Philosophy and Digital Humanities, University of Sheffield. She holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Bristol, an MA from the University of Toronto, and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford's Center for Ethics in Society.

Megan's research focuses on global justice and environmental ethics, particularly climate change as a political justice issue. She examines resource distribution, land rights, reparations for historical injustices, colonialism's legacy, and epistemic injustice in migration contexts. Her work also addresses climate engineering governance and structural inequities in environmental decision-making.
Recent publications analyze climate responsibility allocation, global land governance, and reparations frameworks. Her 2019 book Global Justice, Natural Resources, and Climate Change argues for fair resource sharing to address climate challenges. Current projects include land rights in a changing climate.
She supervises postgraduate research in climate ethics, environmental justice, and global governance. Her teaching includes modules on Environmental Justice and Global Justice, covering topics like climate activism, territorial rights, and migration ethics.
