معرفی
Meg Veruki is a Professor in the Department of Biomedicine at the University of Bergen. Her research focuses on synaptic transmission mechanisms in the central nervous system, particularly in retinal microcircuits. She uses advanced techniques like patch-clamp recordings and multiphoton microscopy. She co-initiated the 'The Retina' exhibit at VilVite Science Museum since 2018. Her work bridges cellular neurophysiology with systems-level understanding of visual processing.
She teaches courses including BMED 340 Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience and OD2FYS. Her research has been funded by EU Horizon2020 (switchBoard project) and the Research Council of Norway (FRIMEDBIO grants 261914 and 213776).
Key awards include the 2021 Top List of Women in European Vision Research and Ophthalmology. She supervises graduate students (e.g., Alexander Opdahl, Julia Hannah Freitag) and collaborates with institutions like the Mohn Research Center for the Brain. Her lab actively investigates retinal signaling pathways, ion channel dynamics, and neural network modeling.
