Meelad Moaphi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English and Film Studies at the Faculty of Arts, Wilfrid Laurier University, joining in 2024. He oversees production courses and integrates his industry expertise into the classroom.
- Education: BFA and MFA in Film Production from York University.
Research & Expertise: Focuses on Directing, Screenwriting, Film Production, and Picture Editing. His work bridges academic teaching with practical filmmaking experience.
Industry Contributions: Directed the Telefilm-funded feature His Father’s Son (2024) and served as Associate Producer for Concrete Valley, showcased at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival and the 2023 Berlinale.
Languages: Fluent in English, Farsi, and Spanish.
