Dr. Meda Burghelea is a Lecturer in Marketing at the School of Business, London South Bank University (LSBU), where she has been teaching since 2017. She is affiliated with the Department of Marketing, Tourism, Events and Hospitality and teaches a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules including Principles of Marketing, Consumer Behaviour, Brand Management, and Integrated Marketing Communications.
Her educational background includes a PhD in Marketing, a Master’s in Marketing Strategies, and a Bachelor’s in Marketing. She previously served as a Part-Time Lecturer at Babeș-Bolyai University, Romania, in the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.
Her research focuses on Retail Marketing, E-retailing, Digital Retailing, Online Customer Experience, and Shopping Behaviour. She investigates how atmospheric variables such as music, ambient scent, digital signage, and sensory technologies influence consumer decisions in both physical and digital retail environments. Her recent work explores the transformation of retail experiences through digitalisation and sustainability, especially in the context of fashion retailing.
Her publications span topics in sensory marketing and consumer psychology, with a recent peer-reviewed article in Addiction (2020) on smoking cessation interventions, highlighting her interdisciplinary approach. The research trend indicates a strong focus on consumer behaviour in retail environments, combining psychological insights with marketing strategy, particularly in omnichannel and responsible marketing contexts.
