Mayank Sukhija is a Research Associate Instructor in the Department of Civil and Construction Engineering at Oregon State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Transportation) from the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi, India (2022), an M.Tech. in Transportation Engineering from National Institute of Technology Silchar (2018), and a B.Tech. in Civil Engineering from Graphic Era Hill University (2015). His research focuses on asphalt binder rheology, pavement preservation, and sustainable infrastructure development, emphasizing cost-effective and durable solutions.
Dr. Sukhija’s work includes pioneering studies on warm mix asphalt, reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP), and nanomaterial-modified binders. He actively contributes to peer-reviewed journals as an editor and reviewer and is affiliated with organizations like the Transportation Research Board (TRB), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and Academy of Pavement Science and Engineering (APSE). His 2025 APSE award recognizes his contributions to pavement science.
Recent studies highlight his exploration of waste-derived modifiers (e.g., sugarcane molasses) and innovative techniques for longitudinal joint construction. He collaborates on Oregon-specific projects like Balanced Mix Design (BMD) implementation and chip seal quality control, aligning with regional infrastructure priorities.
