Dr. Mayzan Isied is an Assistant Professor in the Civil Engineering and Construction Management department at the University of Texas at Tyler. He holds a Ph.D. from North Carolina State University (NC State), specializing in Pavement Engineering and Materials, and a Master of Science from the University of Texas at Tyler, alongside a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Hashemite University, Jordan. His research focuses on advancing sustainable and resilient transportation infrastructure through cost-effective solutions, with an emphasis on recycled materials, AI-driven pavement modeling, and structural evaluation.
Professional roles include Assistant Professor at UT Tyler, and prior positions as Graduate Teaching/Research Assistant at NC State and UT Tyler. Industry experience includes work as a Controls Engineer at Consolidated Contractors Company and Civil Design Engineer at Omrania & Associates.
Research interests span AI applications (e.g., Artificial Neural Networks) for pavement performance modeling, recycled material utilization, and economical assessment of sustainable materials. Notable projects include modifying asphalt mix designs for RAP/RAS materials and calibrating structural coefficients for North Carolina pavements.
His publications emphasize neural network-based models for pavement fatigue, viscosity analysis of modified binders, and cost-effectiveness evaluations of asphalt rubber mixtures. Collaborative work includes studies on jointed plain concrete pavements and temperature prediction models for asphalt layers.
