Maximilian Jager

Maximilian Jager is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. He is associated with the Frankfurt Competence Centre for German and Global Regulation (FCCR), contributing to research on financial regulation and intermediation. His work has been published in leading journals like the Review of Financial Studies and the Journal of Banking & Finance.

His research focuses on financial regulation and intermediation, with recent studies examining bank opacity, geographic complexity, and regulatory heterogeneity. His publications analyze the impact of pandemics on bank stocks, credit allocation under heterogeneous regulation, and systemic risk in interbank networks.

Maximilian Jager has presented at major conferences such as the American Finance Association (AFA) and the Financial Intermediation Research Society (FIRS). He has conducted research visits at the Bundesbank, Bank For International Settlements (BIS), and NYU Stern School of Business.

He obtained his doctorate in economics from the University of Mannheim and studied at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and the University of Regensburg. His current affiliations include the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and the Frankfurt Competence Centre for German and Global Regulation (FCCR).
