Prof. Jens Weidmann is a Professor of Practice in Central Banking at the Department of Finance, Frankfurt School of Finance and Management since June 2023. He currently serves as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Commerzbank AG and member of the German Corporate Governance Code Commission. His career includes significant roles in global finance: from 2011–2021, he was President of the Deutsche Bundesbank and member of the ECB Governing Council, concurrently serving as Chair of the BIS Board of Directors, member of the Financial Stability Board, and European Systemic Risk Board. From 2006–2011, he advised Chancellor Angela Merkel as Head of the Financial and Economic Policy Division at the Federal Chancellery, representing Germany at G8/G20 summits. Earlier, he worked at the IMF, German Economic Council, and Bundesbank.
Education: Studied in Aix-en-Provence and Bonn, where he earned his doctorate.
