معرفی
Maxim Kontsevich is a permanent professor at the Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques (IHÉS) in France since 1995, holding the AXA Chair for Mathematics. He is also a Chair holder at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, USA, since 1997, visiting one month per year.
Education:
- Ph.D., University of Bonn, March 1992
Research Interests: Maxim Kontsevich is renowned for his profound contributions bridging mathematics and theoretical physics. His work encompasses algebraic geometry, non-commutative geometry, symplectic geometry, homological algebra, and mathematical physics. He introduced revolutionary ideas such as motivic integration, stability structures, and deformation quantization, profoundly impacting fields like mirror symmetry, topological quantum field theory, and the theory of moduli spaces.
Awards and Honors:
- Fields Medal (1998)
- Crafoord Prize (2008)
- Shaw Prize in Mathematical Sciences (2012)
- Breakthrough Prize in Mathematics (2014)
- AMS Moore Prize (2025)
- Frontiers of Science Award (2025)
- Otto Hahn Medal (1992)
- Henri Poincaré Prize (1997)
- Doctor Honoris Causa from Aarhus University (2014), University of Vienna (2015), and Syddansk University (2023)
- Member of the Académie des Sciences de Paris, Academia Europaea, Foreign Member of the National Academy of Sciences, and Honorary Member of the London Mathematical Society
Grants and Leadership:
- Principal Investigator of the ERC Synergy Grant "Recursive and Exact New Quantum Theory (ReNew Quantum)" (2019–present)
Editorial Service: He serves on the editorial boards of leading journals including Compositio Mathematica, Publications Mathématiques de l'IHÉS, Letters in Mathematical Physics, and Journal of Noncommutative Geometry.
Recent Recognition: In 2024, IHES hosted a major conference "Mathematics on the Crossroad of Centuries" to celebrate his 60th birthday and his far-reaching contributions to mathematics and physics.
