Alex Takeda is a Research Fellow at the Department of Mathematics, Uppsala University, holding postdoctoral positions at both the Centre for Geometry and Physics and the Geometry and Physics division. His research focuses on advanced topics in noncommutative geometry, symplectic topology, and string topology, with particular emphasis on Calabi-Yau structures, mirror symmetry, and categorical invariants.
He completed his PhD in Physics at UC Berkeley (2019), supervised by Mina Aganagic and Vivek Shende, followed by postdoctoral roles at IHES (2020-2023) under Maxim Kontsevich. His work bridges mathematics and theoretical physics, exploring connections between topological quantum field theories and geometric structures.
Notable research contributions include studies on Calabi-Yau algebras, stability conditions in Fukaya categories, and applications of noncommutative geometry to mirror symmetry. He frequently presents at conferences and institutions like EPFL and the FD seminar, emphasizing geometric and categorical approaches to modern mathematical physics.
