معرفی
Denis Auroux is the Herchel Smith Professor of Mathematics at Harvard University, specializing in symplectic topology and mirror symmetry. His research focuses on Fukaya categories, Lagrangian submanifolds, and their connections to algebraic geometry and geometric topology. He has organized workshops such as the FRG workshops on Mirror Symmetry (2008-2011) and the Simons Collaboration on Homological Mirror Symmetry.
He earned his PhD in 1999 from École Polytechnique (advisors: J.P. Bourguignon and M. Gromov) and completed a Diplôme d'Études Approfondies (DEA) in 1995 at Université Paris Sud. His teaching includes advanced courses like Math 55b (Real/Complex Analysis), Math 55a (Algebra/Group Theory), and specialized topics courses on symplectic manifolds, Lagrangian submanifolds, and braid groups.
Auroux's research interests span symplectic geometry, mirror symmetry, Fukaya categories, and their applications to string theory and algebraic structures. He explores topics such as special Lagrangian fibrations, quantum cohomology, and homological mirror symmetry conjectures, particularly in the context of Calabi-Yau manifolds and Fano surfaces. His work often bridges geometric topology and algebraic geometry, with contributions to Lefschetz fibrations, braid monodromy, and symplectic invariants.
Key areas of his publications include symplectic 4-manifolds, Lagrangian Floer theory, and mirror symmetry for non-compact and singular spaces. He has contributed to the study of Stein fillings, monodromy invariants, and the SYZ conjecture. His NSF-funded workshops foster collaboration in homological mirror symmetry and related fields.
