Associate Professor Max Delany is an Adjunct Associate Professor in Curatorial Practice at Monash University's Department of Fine Art within the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture. He currently serves as Artistic Director and CEO of the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA) since 2016. Previously, he was Senior Curator of Contemporary Art at the National Gallery of Victoria (2012–2016) and Director of Monash University Museum of Art (2004–2012), leading its award-winning architectural development. His professional career bridges academic and institutional roles in curatorial practice and cultural leadership.
Research interests focus on contemporary art curation, museum practice, and the intersection of art with public and institutional frameworks. His work emphasizes exhibition design, cultural policy, and the role of museums in shaping artistic discourse.
