Max Carlin is a doctoral student and researcher in Public Law at the Department of Law, Lund University. His research focuses on the constitutional status of subnational units, including local self-government. He is supervised by Henrik Wenander and Vilhelm Persson. Carlin teaches constitutional law in the first semester of the law program and serves as the assistant editor of Förvaltningsrättslig tidskrift.
His research output includes a 2021 consultation response on electoral and decision-making processes in municipalities and regions. He actively participates in academic networks, attending events such as the Nordic Research Network in Municipal Law (2019) and a masterclass with Cass Sunstein (2018).
