Henrik Wenander is a Professor of Public Law and currently serves as Dean of the Faculty of Law at Lund University. He holds multiple roles, including Research Coordinator at Public Law, Researcher in Human Rights Law, and Member of the LU Profile Area: Human Rights. His academic position is anchored in the Department of Law.
His research focuses on administrative law, constitutional law, and Nordic cooperation, with a particular emphasis on the legal dimensions of Nordic integration and the interplay between EU law and national frameworks. He led a significant project on Nordic public administration's constitutional role, funded by Riksbankens Jubileumsfond. Recent works include a monograph on Nordic legal cooperation and contributions to the Swedish administrative law journal Förvaltningsrättslig tidskrift, which he co-edits with Jane Reichel.
Wenander’s publications span administrative law, EU law, and Nordic legal systems. He has advised on legislative proposals, participated in expert committees (e.g., the 2020 inquiry on judicial independence in Sweden), and contributed to policy consultations. His teaching includes Swedish and European administrative law, complemented by a textbook on legal essay writing.
He supervises doctoral candidates in public and private international law, with past supervisees earning PhDs in tax law and public law. Wenander’s work bridges academia and practice, addressing contemporary challenges in governance, legal frameworks, and Nordic-EU relations.
