Max Bergamo is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Research Fellow affiliated with Yale University (Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations) and the University of Padua (DiSSGeA). Under the supervision of Prof. Dimitri Gutas and Prof. Luciano Bossina, his BridgHe project produces the first complete edition of Late Antique testimonies of Heraclitus, including multilingual translations and commentaries.

His research spans Presocratic thought, Hellenistic philosophy, and classical tradition, with particular focus on Stoic interpretations of Heraclitus, Graeco-Syro-Arabic studies, and Coptic Gnostic texts. He examines doxography, interdisciplinary knowledge exchange in Antiquity, and Nietzsche's engagement with classical antiquity.
Recent publications analyze Stoic cosmogony, Marco Aurelio's citations of Heraclitus, and Neoplatonic doxography in Syriac, reflecting his interest in cross-cultural philosophical transmission. He has organized conferences on Hellenistic intellectual synthesis and co-edited volumes on ancient knowledge systems.
