Maurice D. Cox is the Emma Bloomberg Professor in Residence of Urban Planning and Design at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design (GSD). He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Cooper Union and a 2005 Loeb Fellowship from Harvard GSD. Cox's career spans public service (e.g., Director of Planning for Detroit and Commissioner for Chicago), private practice, and academia. His work emphasizes merging architecture, design, and politics to achieve equitable urban development.

Research Interests: Cox focuses on urban revitalization in disinvested communities, participatory design processes, and civic engagement.
