Matthias Gunzer

Prof. Dr. Matthias Gunzer is a leading faculty member and Director at the Institute of Experimental Immunology & Imaging and the Center of Medical Biotechnology (ZMB) at the University of Duisburg-Essen, Faculty of Medicine. His research is centered on understanding immune cell dynamics, particularly neutrophil behavior, using advanced imaging technologies such as intravital two-photon and light-sheet microscopy. He leads a major research group with extensive funding, including a recent DFG grant for the development of the high-speed 'ComplexEye' microscope.
