Matthew W. Dietz serves as Clinical Director of the Disability Inclusion and Advocacy Law Clinic and Adjunct Professor at Nova Southeastern University's Shepard Broad College of Law. With nearly three decades of legal experience, he is a nationally recognized disability rights attorney who has litigated landmark cases shaping the interpretation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Fair Housing Act.
His expertise centers on disability law and therapeutic jurisprudence, focusing on systemic barriers in medical accessibility, voting rights for print-impaired individuals, and educational accommodations. Professor Dietz pioneered the "effective communication" standard for Deaf patients in healthcare and secured critical services for medically fragile children through landmark Florida litigation.
As Clinical Director, he trains law students in disability rights advocacy through hands-on casework, including alternatives to guardianship, discrimination litigation, and systemic reforms in dependency courts and housing. His clinic directly impacts hundreds of families while advancing disability inclusion through therapeutic legal education and professional wellness frameworks.
