Matthew W. Broda is the Ruth W. and A. Morris Williams, Jr. Endowed Associate Professor and Department Chair of Education at The College of Wooster. He holds a B.S. in Elementary Education (Kent State University, 1999), an M.E.A. (Ashland University, 2004), and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction (Kent State University, 2007). His research focuses on instructional technology, curriculum design, teacher leadership, and experiential education. He has collaborated internationally, including with institutions in Brazil and Argentina, and emphasizes progressive teaching methods using tablets and digital tools. His recent work explores flipped classrooms, data collection in field experiences, and integrating technology into teacher training programs.
Broda’s teaching includes courses like EDUC 300: Teaching Diverse Populations and student teaching seminars. He has served as a middle school teacher and curriculum specialist before joining Wooster in 2007. He actively contributes to educational blogs, discussing topics like reflective teaching practices and innovative pedagogical strategies. His scholarship bridges theory and practice, advocating for adaptive educational technologies to prepare future educators for evolving classroom dynamics.
