Matthew Stutz

Matthew Stutz is an Associate Professor of Geoscience at Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina. His research focuses on coastal erosion, barrier island systems, and the impacts of sea-level rise on coastal development. He teaches courses spanning geology, geography, meteorology, environmental science, and GIS.

Current student research investigates stream bank erosion patterns in the Raleigh-Durham area. Stutz holds a Ph.D. in Earth and Ocean Science from Duke University and a B.S. in Environmental Science and Geology from Southampton College.
