Orrin H. Pilkey

Orrin H. Pilkey (1934-2024) was James B. Duke Professor Emeritus of Geology at Duke University, founding director of the Program for the Study of Developed Shorelines. His research focused on coastal erosion, barrier island dynamics, and sea-level rise impacts, challenging conventional coastal engineering approaches.
