Dr Matthew Reeve serves as a Research Fellow at the Nossal Institute for Global Health within the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, University of Melbourne, where he has provided technical leadership since joining in 2010.
His academic credentials include:
- MBBS from the University of New South Wales
- Master of Public Health from BRAC University, Bangladesh
Reeve's research spans primary health care systems, maternal and child health, HIV prevention among high-risk groups, and disaster vulnerability for people with disabilities. He pioneered quantitative evidence linking disabilities to increased disaster injury risks and advised Asia's largest harm reduction program for people who inject drugs. His work integrates program design, monitoring, and policy advocacy to strengthen health systems in resource-limited settings.
Through extensive training initiatives, Reeve equips public health professionals and government/non-government staff with practical skills for health program implementation and evidence-based policy change, emphasizing community-centered approaches in global health contexts.
