Matthew Mason

Matthew Mason is a Lecturer in English at the Faculty of Human Sciences (FCH) of Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP). He holds a BA (Hons) in French and Italian from Manchester Metropolitan University and an MA in International Relations from the University of Kent in Brussels. Currently pursuing a PhD in Culture Studies at the Lisbon Consortium, his research focuses on the Situationist International (SI), the cinema of Jean-Luc Godard, and the political implications of postmodernism. He also explores broader areas of cultural/intellectual history, philosophy, and film studies.

He teaches English language courses across multiple programs at FCH, including Audiovisual and Multimedia, Cultural and Touristic Communication, and Translation. His academic affiliations include involvement with the Lisbon Consortium and the Faculty of Human Sciences’ research initiatives.
