Matthew Maguire is an Associate Professor at DePaul University, holding a dual appointment in the History Department and Catholic Studies. He earned his BA from Brown University and PhD from Harvard University.
Research Focus: Modern European intellectual history, examining intersections of Christianity, Judaism, Continental philosophy, literature, and politics. His book The Conversion of Imagination explores the role of imagination in modern philosophy and cultural discourse.
Teaching: Courses on European history, modern intellectual history, and the history of Christianity/Catholicism, with seminars on the philosophy of religion.
