Matthew Light

Matthew Light is Associate Professor of Criminology at the University of Toronto, specializing in migration control, policing, and security governance in post-Soviet states. His research examines migration policy evolution after the USSR's collapse, police reforms in Georgia and Armenia, and comparative security provision. He directs the Ukraine Public Security in Transition Project, investigating security perceptions during political transition and conflict.
