He holds dual appointments in Dementia Studies and Neuroscience. His work focuses on neuroanatomy, Alzheimer's pathology, cerebral cortex development, and comparative neuroanatomy. He co-authored The Brain: An Introduction to Functional Neuroanatomy, a textbook used nationally in neuroscience education.
- Education: PhD in Neuropathology (University of Tasmania, 2001), BSc (1st Class Hons) in Psychophysics (University of Tasmania, 1995)
- Professional Roles: Developer of Wicking Centre's postgraduate programs, curriculum designer for MBBS and biomedical research degrees, and national neuroscience education committee coordinator
Research interests include neuronal cytoskeleton dynamics, Alzheimer's disease mechanisms, and applications of machine learning in pathology analysis. His recent work combines neuroanatomical studies with computational methods to improve diagnostic accuracy in neurodegenerative diseases.
