Matthew Hollow is Senior Lecturer in Strategy at the University of York's School for Business and Society. With degrees from Sheffield and Oxford, he specializes in business history, fraud studies, and entrepreneurship.
Research explores historical dimensions of business ethics, white-collar crime, entrepreneurial networks, and risk management. Projects analyze banking fraud in interwar Britain, historical entrepreneurship, and the Americanization of management education.
Publications examine how cultural factors like religious ethics influenced industrialists and how material practices shaped business education. Recent work re-evaluates Weber's Protestant ethic through Victorian entrepreneur case studies.
Awards include the Chris Kobrak Fellowship and World Wings Research Grant. He chairs the Board of Examiners and teaches strategic management.
