Matthew Wood is a Professor of Entrepreneurship and holds the Michael F. Price Chair in Entrepreneurship and Economic Development at the University of Oklahoma's Price College of Business. His research focuses on cognitive processes underlying opportunity evaluation, entrepreneurial action dynamics, and venture emergence mechanisms. He has published extensively in top journals like Academy of Management Review and Journal of Business Venturing, and served as editor for the latter. His work examines unexpected events' impact on entrepreneurs, temporal dimensions of decision-making, and ecosystem influences on venture ideation.
Wood holds a Ph.D. from Southern Illinois University and an MBA from Bradley University. Prior to academia, he operated a commercial printing business. His recent articles explore themes such as crowdfunding temporal dynamics, entrepreneurial fraud frameworks, and humanitarian entrepreneurship models. He actively contributes to entrepreneurship theory development through conference proceedings and editorial roles.
