Todd W. Moss is the Michael F. Price Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Oklahoma’s Price College of Business, specifically within the Tom Love Division of Entrepreneurship and Economic Development. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration (Strategy/Entrepreneurship) from Texas Tech University (2011), alongside degrees in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from Brigham Young University.
His research bridges entrepreneurship with social responsibility and sustainability, focusing on hybrid organizations, refugee entrepreneurship, and cross-sector partnerships. He publishes in top journals like the Academy of Management Journal and serves on editorial boards for Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice and Journal of Business Venturing. Before academia, he worked in product strategy and engineering at Ford Motor Company.
His recent work explores themes like humanitarian aid entrepreneurship, stigma reduction in sanitation ventures, and legitimacy dynamics in crowdfunding. His articles reflect a focus on marginalized communities (refugees, emerging economies), institutional entrepreneurship, and resourcefulness in constrained environments. He actively bridges theory/practice through models like the “rapid response entrepreneurship” framework.
Moss’s contributions to social entrepreneurship education and research include over 50 peer-reviewed articles, textbook reviews, and a decade of empirical studies on sustainable livelihoods and green-tech innovation. His research has policy implications for disaster response, urban renewal, and cross-sector collaboration.
