Matthew Godshall, Ph.D., is a Professor and Associate Dean at the School of Theology and Leadership, Jessup University. He holds a Ph.D. in New Testament from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, an MA in Educational Theatre from Regent University, an MA in New Testament from Talbot School of Theology, and a B.A. in Music and Theology from The Master’s College.
His research focuses on biblical narrative, particularly new creation theology, Lukan Christology, and the Old Testament’s influence in the New Testament. He also explores environmental ethics through a theological lens. Recent work includes articles on Luke’s use of Isaiah and Paul’s use of Genesis in Ephesians, as well as a forthcoming book on identity formation within God’s overarching story.
Godshall is passionate about integrating faith and scholarship, emphasizing how Scripture shapes personal identity and purpose. He collaborates with colleagues in maintaining Jessup’s Christ-centered academic mission.
